Morning Glory Arch
I finally got it figured out how to upload movies.
We hiked up a place called Negro Bill Canyon. I suppose this was great because we did not have to pay go hike this place. We showed up early enough that we only saw one couple in front of us. The hike was easy. Raquel and Becca did pretty well. Actually Becca was trying to let us go in front, but after awhile she was in the lead. (And I was bringing up the rear). But it was a great hike. Since we really did not know where we were going or what was at the end, we did not know what to expect.
Then, we could tell we were at the end of the canyon. But then we heard a bunch of yelling. Oh, great I thought to myself, there are a bunch of people (hippies) up here.
But to our surprise, there were only two couples in front of us and four people that were repelling down into the canyon. We got to see first hand how they rappel.
I always wondered how they all get to the bottom then get the rope back. They explained that the rope is looped over a ring. When they go down they are using both ends of the rope. Then when they are finished they just pull one end of the rope and it slips out of the ring still at the top. [Can anyone explain this better than me?]
Just to hear the stream as it trickled in to the box canyon. And can you see the Poison Ivy?

Morning Glory Natural Bridge
Here we are at the end of Negro Bill Canyon. We were treated to have 4 rappellers coming down. If you look close you can see the rope.

Hiking Mt Dana
Another time Duane wanted to go hike a high peak in Yosemite. So off we went.
You have to remember that Stockton is 15 feet above sea level, and this peak is like 15000 feet.
So off we went. We drove then started hiking. We hiked past the timber line. I could tell the air was much thiner. When we got to the top I fell asleep. It was a deep sleep. Duane had to kick me to wake up for our climb down.
These were the day never to be forgotten. Thanks Duane for the memories.
My brother came to the Temple with Me
The day I went to the Temple to get married, we drove together. I thought there would be nothing that would separated us. He waited outside the temple for a little bit then went and rented a Blue Continental for our Honeymoon.

New Direction
Recently I came across a wiki article on how to avoid colloquialisms. Wow how I destroy the language. I learned that I should just not write like I speak. I learned that I should make my writing more formal. As it turns out this is the challenge I wanted for myself. I wanted to not be a 'common tater'. You see I still bring on common everyday words and phrases that are well pretty well meaningless, unless you were there. This is just something in my head and no where else. I should not assume that you know what I am talking about unless I explain myself, or you ask the questions.
The world around me is changing as well. Today I am entering this on a computer that Lee Christensen has let me use. It is a computer they had at work.
Recently as I helped with the BYU Lacrosse game I was visiting with the TV crew. I sure have missed a great many things. Well anyway as I was visiting with the TV crew I learned about byu.tv. I learned how to watch programing over the internet. There was one article about Gordon B Hinkley. I was greatly impressed how over the years he was always involved with just improving the things around him. He improved his home, his work, his yard, even his desk. With all the years he has lived he had improved a great many things. How many time and people have we all seen that just want to learn one thing and just continue in the same thing. There are people at work that same exactly the same thing every day. They don't see to want to learn and do something different everyday. Now you are caught in that same trap. What have you learned that is new, today?
So you see this is how this blog can fit in. What have I learned today? What is new? What is Nu? Oh, I let those old things in, but I am trying to move along and try. I am trying to put the old away and start over again.
Well enough for now. You are probably bored with all these words and hoping to get back to your busy life. I guess I can say more later.

The Lord of the Vineyard hath blessed me
21 And it came to pass that the servant said unto his master: How comest thou hither to plant this tree, or this branch of the tree? For behold, it was the poorest spot in all the land of thy vineyard.
22 And the Lord of the vineyard said unto him: Counsel me not; I knew that it was a poor spot of ground; wherefore, I said unto thee, I have nourished it this long time, and thou beholdest that it hath brought forth much fruit.
23 And it came to pass that the Lord of the vineyard said unto his servant: Look hither; behold I have planted another branch of the tree also; and thou knowest that this spot of ground was poorer than the first. But, behold the tree. I have nourished it this long time, and it hath brought forth much fruit; therefore, gather it, and lay it up against the season, that I may preserve it unto mine own self.
24 And it came to pass that the Lord of the vineyard said again unto his servant: Look hither, and behold another branch also, which I have planted; behold that I have nourished it also, and it hath brought forth fruit.
25 And he said unto the servant: Look hither and behold the last. Behold, this have I planted in a good spot of ground; and I have nourished it this long time, and only a part of the tree hath brought forth tame fruit, and the other part of the tree hath brought forth wild fruit; behold, I have nourished this tree like unto the others.
26 And it came to pass that the Lord of the vineyard said unto the servant: Pluck off the branches that have not brought forth good fruit, and cast them into the fire.
27 But behold, the servant said unto him: Let us prune it, and dig about it, and nourish it a little longer, that perhaps it may bring forth good fruit unto thee, that thou canst lay it up against the season.
28 And it came to pass that the Lord of the vineyard and the servant of the Lord of the vineyard did nourish all the fruit of the vineyard.
The Lord hath blessed me and nourished me.

Yerke's going to Conneticut
Craig said he sent his accptance letter to Hamden Conneticut. Which is 15 minutes North of Yale. Yale is in North Haven.
School begins on May 30. So they have less than a month off.
Roene's Funeral
We learned alot and heard alot. They were marvelous things. They were so marvelous they are unrepeatable. I cannot remember all of them. But I do know of a scripture that speaks of these things.
3 Nephi 17:15-17 "And when he had said these words ... and the things which he prayed cannot be written, and the multitude did bear record who heard him. And after this manner do they bear record: The eye hath never seen neither hath the ear heard, before, so great and marvelous things as we saw and heard Jesus speak unto the Father. "
I wish you all could have been there and participated.

Trust in the Lord
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart;
and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him,
and he shall direct thy paths.
[And as if to say it again 7-11]
Be not wise in thine own eyes;
fear the lord,
and depart from evil.
It shall be health to thy navel,
and marrow to thy bones.
Honour the Lord with thy substance,
and with the first fruits of all thy increase;
So shall thy barns be filled with plenty,
and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
My son,
despise not the chastening of the Lord;
neither be weary of his correction.
[Then I found another one that seems to help, Alma 7:23,24]
And now I would that ye shoudl be humble,
and be submissive and gentle;
easy to be entreated;
full of patience and long-suffering;
being temperate in all things;
being diligent in keeping the commandments of God at all times;
asking for whatsoever things ye stand in need,
both spiritual and temporal;
always returning thanks unto
God for whatsoever things ye do receive.
And see that ye have faith,
hope,
and charity,
and then ye will always abound in good works.
