On the way to Yosemite

Here we are on the way to Yosemite. This is Mariposa Rd going east out of Stockton. I remember this trip. When we arrived in the valley it was dark and late. We just laid out on the ground, and did not even put up a tent.

I was driving, and Duane took the picture.

New Name for Anna

Get this, Rebecca was so kind to me the other day. She pointed out the Pronouncing Guide at the end of the Book of Mormon. As it turns out I was mispronouncing a name from the Book of Mormon.

So, there I was looking up how to pronounce Antionah. Remember this is the place that Alma and Amulek went to preach. You will want to look this up for yourself.

How do you pronounce Antionah?

Our New Car

Well, we purchased a new car. And you know how Rebecca is she has to be the first to name the car. And The name that she has chosen is 'Lightening McQueen'.

Well it is a red car. And we really did not like any other names.

New Template

As you can tell I have selected a new template for my blog. It should be easier to read for those of you that user IE. (I use Firefox). There are some new features you may want to look for. For example at the bottom there is a button to subscribe to email notifications of changes. I recommend you look at that. Also I changed some pictures. Well I am still playing with the pictures. Who knows what they will look like when I am finished. So say good bye to the old and hello to the new.

Trust in the Lord

All week long I have been quoting this verse from Proverbs 3:5-6. Today I decided to look it up.

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart;
and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him,
and he shall direct thy paths.

[And as if to say it again 7-11]

Be not wise in thine own eyes;
fear the lord,
and depart from evil.
It shall be health to thy navel,
and marrow to thy bones.
Honour the Lord with thy substance,
and with the first fruits of all thy increase;

So shall thy barns be filled with plenty,
and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

My son,
despise not the chastening of the Lord;
neither be weary of his correction.

[Then I found another one that seems to help, Alma 7:23,24]
And now I would that ye shoudl be humble,
and be submissive and gentle;
easy to be entreated;
full of patience and long-suffering;
being temperate in all things;
being diligent in keeping the commandments of God at all times;
asking for whatsoever things ye stand in need,
both spiritual and temporal;
always returning thanks unto
God for whatsoever things ye do receive.

And see that ye have faith,
hope,
and charity,
and then ye will always abound in good works.

Traditions

Here we are continuing the tradition of sleeping outside on New Years Eve.
